Guard Your Gates

young prince.jpg

Guard Your Gates is a children’s book I wrote, beautifully illustrated by my sons, Champ and Duke. This story helps children understand the power of guarding their five senses, compared to the gates of a castle. Told through the eyes of a young prince struggling with nightmares and troubling thoughts, the story takes readers on a journey through the castle, where the Queen and King shares a creative and impactful lesson on protecting the subconscious mind. As the prince begins to understand and real-eyes the importance of being mindful of what he watches, listens to, surrounds himself with, and even eats, he learns how to overcome his fears and negative thoughts.

01

Eye Gate

This gate protects what you allow into your spirit through your eyes—whether through social media, videos, movies, TV shows, or the content you read and write. If you desire a life of prosperity, peace, and fulfillment, close the gate to anything that does not align with that vision.

02

Ear Gate

The ear gate filters what you listen to—conversations, music, news, and opinions. If you seek a life of prosperity, peace, and fulfillment, be mindful of what enters, and shut the gate to anything that does not align with that vision.

Mouth Gate

The mouth gate controls the words you speak—whether they're spoken to others, about yourself, or even in your thoughts. If you desire a life filled with success, harmony, and contentment, be careful of the words that leave your mouth. Speak only what aligns with your highest goals and values, and guard against words that don’t reflect the life you wish to create.

Skin Gate

The skin gate governs what you allow yourself to feel—whether through physical touch, sensations, or even the energy of those around you. If you seek a life of well-being, balance, and joy, be intentional about what you expose yourself to. Surround yourself with experiences and people that nourish your spirit, and protect yourself from what drains or harms your peace.

Nose Gate

The nose gate is a direct pathway to the brain through the olfactory nerves, instantly influencing your body’s responses. The aromas, odors, and even the air around you can trigger reactions that affect your hunger, thirst, and desires. Be intentional about what you allow through this gate, as it holds power over your instincts and well-being.
